Wilson

Organized by The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association

Update 01/24/10
Wilson is making a speedy recovery. He was released from the hospital Thursday 01/20/2011 and has been placed on a special diet to help his digestive tract recover from his terrible illness. Although he is still carrying the Parvo Virus and contagious for the next couple of weeks he is all in all doing well. His foster family is making sure he is smothered with hugs and kisses from all the wonderful donors.

Little Wilson needs your help!
Little Wilson, a sweet blue Australian Cattle Dog, was picked up on a North Carolina street on Dec 28th at the tender age of only 8 weeks old. No puppy should ever be in a shelter and we pulled him on Jan 3rd, and he was transported north along with another puppy on Jan 6th. He finally arrived with his foster family in RI, and just as he was starting to settle in, things got scary. Even though he had a round of vaccinations and had been free of the shelter for ten days, he fell ill on the 13th, refusing his dinner and becoming listless. Over the next day and a half, he became so sick that his foster mom took him to the hospital and we learned he had been struck by the parvo virus which can wreak such profound havoc on the litte ones. Fortunately, he had already been on an IV to combat the dehydration, and with the hospital's additional care, he started to perk up a bit and show improvement on Sunday. His prospects now look very good, but he really needs your help. He will have to stay in the hospital and on the IV for at least another week, if not ten days. In all other ways he is in good health, and a spunky, playful, puppy with an independant spirit, curious about everything and everyone around him and just sweet as can be. We want to do everything we can to help him heal and help him on his way to his forever home.

We hope you can join us in this effort! Every little bit helps. His treatment will cost a great deal, but we also know that the more people know about him, and if everyone gives a little, we can meet that goal. Please help, and please spread the word!
